You Might Also Like ("the App") is developed by Melvin Morina. We take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Data We Collect
Information You Provide
- Recommendation inputs: The text you type when requesting recommendations. This is sent to our AI service to generate results. We do not permanently store your inputs on our servers.
- Subscription information: If you subscribe to Premium, payment is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store your payment details.
Automatically Collected Data
- Analytics: We use PostHog to collect anonymous usage analytics (screens viewed, features used, error rates). This helps us improve the app. No personally identifiable information is collected.
- Device identifier: A random, anonymous device ID is generated locally for rate limiting purposes. This is not linked to your Apple ID or any personal information.
- Apple DeviceCheck: We use Apple's DeviceCheck API to verify device authenticity and prevent abuse. This does not reveal your identity.
- Photo Library: If you choose to save recommendation cards, we request write-only access to your photo library. We do not read or access your existing photos.
Data Storage
- Local storage: Your recommendation history, preferences, and settings are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly share it.
- Caching: Recommendation results are cached locally on your device to reduce API calls and improve performance.
- Server-side: Our Cloudflare Worker proxy processes your requests in real-time and does not permanently store your inputs or results. Rate limiting counters are stored temporarily (48 hours) and contain no personal information.
Third-Party Services
- OpenAI: Your recommendation inputs are sent to OpenAI's API (via our secure proxy) to generate results. OpenAI's data usage policy applies to this processing. We do not send any personal information to OpenAI.
- RevenueCat: Manages subscription status. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
- PostHog: Anonymous analytics. See PostHog's Privacy Policy.
- Apple: App Store purchases and DeviceCheck. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties. Data is only shared with the service providers listed above, strictly for the purpose of operating the app.
Your Rights
- Delete your data: You can delete all locally stored data at any time via Settings → Delete All Data & Reset.
- Opt out of analytics: Contact us to request analytics opt-out.
- Access your data: Contact us to request a copy of any data associated with your device.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
